Missing children: NSW Police search for two kids in Kains Flat near Mudgee after they vanished on walk


There is a desperate search for two young siblings who wandered off from a rural property in New South Wales and never returned.

Police were called to the property in Kains Flat, which is about 35kms northeast of Mudgee, at around 5.45pm on Monday.

Eli Jones, 14, and 12-year-old Hannah Jones left the property for a walk at 2.30pm.

They never returned and have been missing overnight.

A major search is underway and includes specialist officers, Police Rescue and the dog unit.

They are also being assisted by NSW Ambulance, the Rural Fire Service and the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter.

Eli is Caucasian in appearance, about 175cm tall with brown hair and is believed to have been wearing a grey t-shirt when he vanished.

Hannah is also Caucasian in appearance, about 160cm tall with brown hair and may have been wearing a pink top.

Anyone who sees the pair or have information have been urged to contact police.
