All 4 of the important thing DNA constructing blocks have now been present in meteorites, suggesting that area rocks could have delivered the compounds to Earth, contributing to the origin of life.

DNA has a spiral-staircase construction, during which every step consists of pairs of molecules referred to as nucleobases. Two of those 4 nucleobases – adenine and guanine, which belong to a gaggle of chemical compounds referred to as purines – had been first detected in meteorites within the Nineteen Sixties.
